Stray Cats 

It has been estimated that there are over 300,000 stray cats living in Rome. And it is a fact that the Romans love their cats and refuse to hurt them.

There is even a law on the books that calls for sever penalties for anyone convicted of killing a cat with fines of up to 10,000 euros for the first offense.
