Curing Olives – Part One

Curing Olives – Part One

Autumn is the time of year when we begin curing olives. Years ago I recall my grandparents letting the kids help by taking the large green olives and hitting them with a mallet to break the skin in preparation for curing. We thought it was the greatest thing. Almost felt like adults and boy those olives were great.

This is a tradition that is wonderful to pass on to your children. Makes them understand where food comes from and how to take good care of themselves.

Isn’t it wonderful that all over the world..
