Fried figs

Fried figs


for 4 people:

  • 12 big and not too ripe figs

  • 1 egg

  • 6 tablespoons of flour

  • milk

  • extra virgin olive oil

  • 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar

  • salt.


  1. Shell egg in a bowl and mix with flour, a pinch of salt and enough milk to get a soft batter.

  2. As soon as the mixture will be smooth, put it in the fridge to rest for about 1 hour.

  3. Wash and dry the figs delicately, then dip them in batter and fry in hot oil. As they become puffed and golden, drain and place them on a paper towel.

  4. Sprinkle with sugar and serve warm.
