Share a Family Recipe Simple after Pasta, Salad from Joanne and Frank

Joanne and I usually follow our pasta with a simple salad consisting of fresh lettuce of your choice, salt, pepper, Oregano, Basil, Onion, Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Vinegar.

Please have fun with our recipes. We welcome you to be creative.

Ingredients

  • Lettuce: Romaine, Iceberg or field greens (crisp) along with a small amount of chopped Radicchio if available.

  • Red Onion: we use one small chopped (optional)

  • Oregano: 1 tablespoon (optional)

  • Basil: 1 tablespoon (optional)

  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

Note #1:  simple salad consisting of fresh lettuce of your choice, salt, pepper, Oregano, Basil, Onion, Extra Virgin Olive Oil & Vinegar.

Note #2: When you dress the salad use the oil and vinegar sparingly. You don’t want the lettuce to be saturated. The salad should be crisp and appetising.

Note #3: The Olive Oil is very important in these recipes. Often when we travel we’re staying in an Air BnB for example and there. may be olive oil in the cupboard that has been in there for a while. We never use it. Olive oil should be used relatively soon after opening. If it sits for too long, it will begin to taste rancid and can ruin your dinner.
