Fresh Strawberry Granita


Serves: 4-6

  • 1 1/2 C. Fresh Strawberries – cut up
  • 2 Tbsp. Fresh Basil Leaves – chopped
  • 2 Tsp. Fresh Lemon juice
  • 3 Tbsp. Sugar


  1. Slice the strawberries.
  2. Put the berries, sugar, lemon juice, and basil in a food processor or blender.
  3. Puree until smooth.
  4. Pour the mixture into a container and place in the freezer.
  5. After it starts to freeze, scrape with a fork. Continue this process a few times as it freezes over a few hours.
  6. The crystals will appear dry after a while. Stop scraping – you are finished!

Serving suggestions:

Try serving your Fresh Strawberry Granita in a wine or martini glass with a sprig of basil for garnish.

For a delicious Granita Martini, pour some chilled vodka over the top.

Another option is to make some Limoncello Cream  to spoon on the top.

Limoncello Cream

  • 3/4 C. Heavy Cream
  • 1 Tbsp. Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp. Limoncello
  1. Mix the heavy cream, sugar and Limoncello in a bowl.
  2. Whip until soft peaks form.
  3. Spoon on the top of your granita!
